Lyondemere Anniversary: June 29, 2024

The Barony of Lyondemere is pleased to host the celebration of our 46th Anniversary! For the theme of the day for our Anniversary, we’d like to see the “Best Use of Lyondemere’s Colors” – Green, Gold, and White. Surprise us with your creative and innovative use of color! The Barony will be choosing its champions in many different disciplines, including Armored Combat Champion, Rapier Champion, and our Champion for Arts and Sciences. Plus our Lyon Bard competition returns this year.

On the fields of battle, we have many surprises in store. Heavy Weapons: We have a “special Inferno list” being designed by Gareth and Dante, so watch for more details forthcoming. Rapier Fighters, we will have a Swiss Five tournament. Come prepared to fight with all five secondaries: dagger, buckler, cloak, baton, case (second sword), plus single sword. Limited loaner secondaries will be available.

For Arts and Sciences, bring the Arts or Sciences that you are most passionate about for display. Finished works, works in progress: The only mandatory element is that you have a love for what you’ve been working on! If you are able to hang out to demo or talk about your display, you are welcome to do so. Or, if you’ll be on the fighting fields or busy at the Bardic, please bring something that tells us about your passion.

Our Lyon Bard competition will be hosted by THLord Thomas Whitehart (True Thomas), since his son is the current Lyon Bard (and his son lives out of state). If you can incorporate “Lyondemere’s Colors” into your bardic entries, all the better! Be prepared to perform two pieces (no more than 5 minutes each), in whatever format you love and have a passion for, whether music, spoken word, or general entertainment. And the finals will be a surprise challenge, testing the creativity of the potential Lyon Bard.
